CMMC FINAL RULE – Title 48 (CFR 48)

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) final rule Title 48 or 48 CFR was published in the Federal Register on September 10, 2025, with an effective date of November 10, 2025.
This final rule makes the CMMC requirement a legal or regulatory requirement for organizations with Department of Defense (DoD) contracts. Contracting officers can now begin requiring it in contract solicitations. Defense contractors must begin the compliance process now to meet these new requirements.
